Industry Day 2015: The Sircon® Vision Revealed

By: Kip Karwoski

For the past 8 summers, Vertafore has invited customers to East Lansing to present to over 100 of our Sircon employees for what we call Industry Day. Industry day is a great opportunity for our Vertafore staff who focus on Sircon solutions to have a common understanding of how our customers understand at and use our solutions. Our overall goal of this event is to bring greater value to our customers today and in the future by listening to their needs and feedback on our products and services.

This year, we approached Industry Day with an open mind and event theme of agent experience, giving our speakers more time and allowing us to internalize their comments and feedback. This meant Vertafore employees were able to directly discuss the challenges that carriers, distributors, and education providers face today, and what they see coming in the future.

In particular, Industry Day gave me a greater appreciation for our customers. This was due in part to the quality of each presentation, but also to the fantastic character each individual brought to the discussion as they spoke on behalf of their organizations. Each speaker painted a vivid picture of their day-to-day that is invaluable to us as a vendor and business partner.

Those who presented included Industry Analyst from Celent, Tom Scales; Licensing Manager, Dan Baker from Nationwide; Senior VP of Wells Fargo Advisors, Mark Jiron; Director of Agent Onboarding Operations, Don Laney of United HealthCare; AllState's Director of Agency Support, Bob Birman; and President of WebCE, Jennifer Haworth.

It was reassuring to see that our Sircon vision for the future is consistent with the needs of the industry that were presented by Tom Scales, whose organization's main objective is to study the trends of the industry and share the expertise that will help shape the future of our market.

That vision is to build and deliver one platform that connects all industry stakeholders to streamline producer/advisor lifecycle management and regulatory compliance activities in one solution – and this year's Industry Day has gotten us one step closer to it.
