Education Providers: Continuing Education Automation Sweeps the mid-Atlantic

For education providers, submitting current and accurate continuing education (CE) information for each state can be time consuming. Today, Maryland is one step closer in simplifying that process with their new automated insurance regulatory application.

Save Time with Instructor Tracking

When providers initially seek approval for a new course or specific offering for an already approved course, providers are required to identify course instructors before they can be approved. Maryland's previous process did not involve tracking this information electronically, so it took more than a quick e-mail for submittal. Now with an electronic process, instructors can get approved independently of a provider or course and are even assigned categories based on the types of courses the instructor is approved to teach.

Key Advancements in Course Rosters and Registration

When a producer needs to find a course to fulfill a CE requirement, the Available Course Offerings inquiry can be used to find available offerings. The sooner providers submit their offerings, the sooner individuals can find those courses that are listed, making it easier for producers to quickly complete course requirements.

Also, Maryland, along with 21 other states, have the ability to bank course rosters, process course renewals and obtain approval for new courses. This means that providers can process all education-related transactions using one tool.

Education Services in the mid-Atlantic

With the exception of one state, electronic processing of information has swept the mid-Atlantic. For regional and national providers who offer classes in states such as Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, North Carolina, Connecticut, and Pennsylvania, their jobs have become that much easier.
