Important Notices

Mississippi Resident License Reinstatements - Mississippi resident license reinstatements are currently unavailable via Compliance Express. The service will be available for resident licenses on September 9th.

Resident and nonresident insurance producers may electronically reinstate licenses that have an expiration date less one year from the current date by paying a license reinstatement fee of 50% of the license fee in addition to the license renewal fee. The license will be reinstated to the day of the reinstatement.

Please note: Appointments are not reactivated when a license is reinstated.

The following groups of lapsed licensees may submit a reinstatement request:

Business Entities:

  • Producer Entity, Life, Accident & Health
  • Producer Entity, Property & Casualty
  • Adjuster

Individuals:

  • Life, Accident and Health insurance producer licensees
  • Property and Casualty insurance producer licensees
  • Independent Adjuster licensees
  • Resident individual insurance licensees who have met the continuing education requirements

To submit for immediate electronic reinstatement, click on 'Renew or Reinstate Your License' in the left-hand column.

Emergency Adjuster Licenses – The Mississippi Insurance Department has authorized the issuance of emergency independent adjuster licenses. The application may be submitted by clicking on the “apply for a license” link in the menu on the left side of this page. Applicants must be certified by a Mississippi licensed independent adjuster; the certification form is available to be printed as part of the application process through Sircon and is also available on the state web site. The emergency license is not eligible for renewal and will expire 180 days from issuance. Note that if an adjuster currently holds a Mississippi resident or non-resident adjuster license, there is no need to obtain an emergency independent adjuster license.

Surplus Lines Agent Licensing Information - Please be advised to obtain a Surplus Lines license: The resident applicant must hold a resident or non-resident property and casualty insurance producer license in the State of Mississippi and the applicant must hold at least two certificates of authority/appointments in the State of Mississippi with admitted property and casualty insurance companies. The non-resident applicant must hold a surplus lines license in their home state. If not, they must meet the same requirements as the resident applicant.
