State of Indiana Department of Insurance Announces Partnership with Sircon

Indiana to Use "Sircon for States™" Solution for Producer Licensing

Okemos, Mich., July 19, 2006 - Indiana's Department of Insurance today announced their partnership with Sircon and presented changes being made to their producer licensing process. The announcement took place during the department's Industry Day which featured a series of presentations that discussed licensing changes the State is implementing.

Indiana will begin using Sircon for States™ which provides online licensing and other insurance related services, such as pre-licensing and continuing education, online license applications and renewals, and producer access to status and updates. These processes will be paperless, and web-based, thereby expediting the licensing processes.

"In Indiana, we serve over 120,000 active agents and over 7500 agencies," said Deputy Commissioner, Chet Pietras. "The time and manpower needed to manage that amount of activity creates a significant delay in the number of processes which can be completed in an efficient manner. Going paperless will allow our agents and agencies to focus on their work instead of the process required to get licensed."

Indiana's online services available through Sircon will allow producers and agencies to:

  • License Applications - submit new license requests or add a line of authority to an existing license
  • License Renewals - submit payment and license renewal requests in real time
  • Address Changes - keep addresses and other personal information current
  • Education Information - access information regarding online methods for meeting state education requirements
  • Certification - print official state Letters of Certification
