South Dakota Division of Insurance Hosts Industry Day Event with Sircon Corporation

South Dakota to Use "Sircon for States™" Solution for Producer Licensing

Okemos, Mich., March 19, 2007 - South Dakota's Division of Insurance and Sircon Corporation, teamed up today to host South Dakota Industry Day - an educational day featuring presentations by Sam Meyer and Steven Scutt of Sircon Corporation. At this event, the Division also announced that on May 1, 2007 all insurance carriers, agencies and individual producers will be able to process insurance license applications, renewals, appointments and other compliance-related tasks, online through Sircon's web-based platform.

"In South Dakota, we serve over 49,000 active agents and over 2,700 agencies," said Merle Scheiber, Director, South Dakota Division of Insurance. "Going paperless will allow our agents and agencies to focus on their work instead of the process required to get licensed. Industry Day is an important opportunity to inform and educate the insurance community about these new services."

The Industry Day's agenda includes:

  • Overview of Changes in the Division of Insurance - Implementation of the Sircon for States Regulatory Management System
  • The Future of Electronic Licensing and CE Services in South Dakota
  • Sircon Online Services Demonstration

Sircon will enable the state of South Dakota to better manage insurance regulations relating to enforcement case actions, complaints, producer data, and rate and form filing. The Sircon for States platform opens up direct online access to South Dakota for insurance carriers and producers to process electronic appointments, terminations, license applications, renewals and continuing education credits.
