Utah Department of Insurance and Sircon Partner to Make eCommerce Available to More Insurance Agents
Utah to Subsidize Online Licensing Through Sircon
Okemos, Mich., February 6, 2007 - Sircon Corporation today announced an exciting program in partnership with the Utah Department of Insurance that will help streamline insurance license applications, renewals and name/address changes for insurance carriers and producers (also known as agents). Through this program, Sircon will provide the online service for carriers and producers to apply and renew online, while the Utah Department of Insurance will subsidize the program through Sircon. The result will be a reduction of paper and a significantly streamlined licensure process.
"The Utah Department recognizes that e-commerce is the most effective and efficient way to administer regulation," said Neal Gooch, Deputy Insurance Commissioner for the state of Utah. "Sircon offers a platform that gives our agents direct online access to licensing services, minimizing paperwork and eliminating processing delays. We know that by subsidizing online transactions we are able to better serve those that we regulate, while continuing to reduce overall costs."
The Utah Department of Insurance subsidy program covers a range from a percentage of the total cost of a transaction to the full cost depending on the type of request. Insurance carriers and producers who choose not to utilize the electronic processing where it's available, will be subject to a flat fee of $25.00 for a paper filing. Electronic filing through Sircon is the preferred process for receiving an application or renewal.
